Hey Sweet Girls!
Have you guys ever seen or read "The Help"? You know that one scene where Aibileen is trying to teach Mae Mobley how great of a child she is? She wanted her to grow up knowing that someone loved her. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, you can watch this video to get a better idea (fair warning: if you're particularly emotional, it might be a bit of a tear-jerker).
Aibileen decided at this moment to tell Mae Mobley every chance she got that Mae Mobley was kind, smart and important. She wanted to do this because Mae Mobley's mother never gave her child affirming words of encouragement like that. This role that Aibileen plays in Mae Mobley's life is so crucial. Everybody can benefit from a word of encouragement. Believe it or not, even the strongest people need someone to give them a reassuring or reaffirming comment sometimes.
You guys should all keep Aibileen's words near and dear to your hearts. You are all kind, you are all smart, and you are all important people. You are valued more than you know and you should never forget that! If you are ever having a bad day or you need a little boost, watch that clip and remember how great and how loved you are!
Until next time,
Molly
