Hey Sweet Girls!
In honor of Thanksgiving being this past Thursday, I wanted to make a post about giving thanks. It is really easy for us to give thanks for the great things in life. We can appreciate our blessings when they are obvious and exactly what we wanted. However, that is not the only time that we should be thankful.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 says, "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."
It's so easy for us to get caught up in the trivial problems that we go through everyday. Focusing on these minuscule upsets- that won't really matter 10 years from now- can ultimately affect our happiness and the way we view life. What truly matters is for us to give thanks in troubled times, along with prosperous times. That is what it means in Thessalonians when it says, "in all circumstances". We should not choose when to be thankful, and you can always find blessings- even in what appears to be the worst times.
So, I urge you all to always be thankful... even if at first you think that there is nothing to be thankful for.
Until next time,
Molly
